French Holiday Rental Cottage Loire Lassay Mayenne
A delightful period stone French cottage for romantic getaway holidays, with an abundance of charm and character nestled in the peaceful and friendly village of Niorte La Fontaine, in the Loire Valley, near Lassay Les Chateaux and Mayenne.
This rural traditional French holiday home has large spacious rooms, and is newly decorated and kitted out to a high standard. It is decorated with original oil paintings, Designers Guild and Hobbs linen, 32" Samsung LCD TV, Sony ipod music centre, leather sofas, memory foam mattreses, beautiful beams and original wooden floors everywhere. A wood burning range for those cosy evenings in is the centre piece of the living room, and there are stunning tranquil countryside views out of the antique shuttered windows.
There is a good sized private garden across the quiet lane, which has a good sized table and chairs , and BBQ for alfresco dining .
The village is 3km from the historic and very beautiful small town of Lassay Les Chateaux with its imposing fairytale 14th century castle to explore. The attractive town square has a variety of specialist shops including two patisseries, well stocked co-op and lovely terraced cafes and bars to sit out at and soak up the atmosphere.
There is a variety of great open air and enclosed swimming pools in the area , and the nearest beach is 10 km away at the beautiful swimming lake of La Ferte Mace. There is riding, fishing, boating and great forest walks in the area. Just around the corner from the cottage is the amazing Emile Pissaro walk where the famous impressionist artist lived and was inspired to paint his masterpieces. A structured walk follows a trail that marks out the scenes in the landscape which he actually made into paintings! This walk has a truly magical feeling.
